New Members Usually Ask These Questions
The African Youth Parliament for Water is an organization that invites youth to take part in shaping the water sector and its direct effects on other SDGs. As a member, you will become part of a wide network of young water enthusiasts spread across the continent. Together we can prioritise water and sanitation issues, empower youth voices, and create a platform for the expertise of youth to be recognized on a decision-making level.
By joining the AYPW, you will
- Collaborate with like-minded youth leaders across Africa.
- Gain access to training and mentorship programs.
- Contribute to meaningful change in water and sanitation.
On our website and LinkedIn, you can find a link to the registration form to become a member. You have to be a youth from an African country (under 35) to become a member and passionate about a sustainable future on the continent.
Filling in the registration form takes about 5 – 10 minutes. We ask you questions such as the line of work you are currently involved in to get an idea of what you are up to, which gives us insight in how you can best help us and how we can best help you.
Within two weeks you will receive an email which will say if you were accepted. Rejections happen on the base of age (too old) and when we recognize a faulty registration (key information is not provided, or member is already registered, etc.). You will receive one of our newsletters as well, which should provide an update on our current affairs, so stay connected with our community through regular updates and events.
Someone from our team will also reach out to you to discuss how you could specifically start being involved.
Our team is working as hard as they can to answer all messages on our different platform. Within two weeks you can expect an answer. If it takes longer than that, we apologize. Please reach out again, possibly your message slipped past otherwise very sharp eyes.
If you are a member, partner or interested party and you would like to share something with our members, please send us an email. Depending on the type of message you like to share (question for our members, offering an opportunity, etc.) we can figure out what would be the best platform to use. Messages could be shared on our social media platforms, through our internal communication modes or in our newsletter and website.
When having registered, we will reach out to you and update you on the activities in your country and/or the wider region.
