Profile of Danielle Kamtie

Danielle Kamtié,Founder/Co-founder and board member: Born and Raised in Cameroon, Danielle is a progressive professional in project management in the international development sector, a young leader and advocate for youth empowerment, youth inclusion in the SDGs and governance, making waves for youth inclusive global development. As a fierce champion for youth inclusion in creation of a sustainable world, she has a dedication on expanding access to youth engagement on clean water and sanitation for all, gender equality, education, and climate change.

Danielle has served as the Vice President of the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW)from 2021-2024, collaborating with a wide network of +15 000 young people worldwide, across +50 countries to implement sustainable and practical solutions to global water issues. She is also the Director and Board member of the Blues Water School Networks, a dynamic, innovative and educator-led platform promoting education of young Canadians on the importance of water management. Danielle is also involved and represents youth voices on many other projects that are linked to SDG6, like women and girls empowerment, education, youth capacity building, climate change, and youth inclusion in governance.

She believes that young people, independently of their backgrounds, are agents of change and innovation leaders, connecting local communities and ready to take the necessary risks for their communities in a rapidly changing world.

Profile of Fatou M'bow

Born and raised in Belgium with Senegalese roots, Fatou is a water engineer focused on the Global South context. Besides that, she is involved as the African Focal Point of the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW).Growing up in the western world, while constantly visiting her country of origin in the developing world - Senegal - constantly reminded her of a harsh contrast that was actually a reflection of the importance of having a proper infrastructure. This is how her passion for improving Africa developed from a young age; taking responsibility for important problems in the world.

As an optimistic idealist, she is always striving to unlock potential where she can, and she sees potential in the African youth as they are optimists while recognising that primary needs such as water and sanitation are hindering their nations' socio-economic productivity. As the African Focal Point of WYPW, Fatou wants to help in providing a platform for them, so they can trust in taking the future of their continent in their own hands to unlock its potential.

Profile of Odwa Ntsika Mtembu

Odwa Ntsika Mtembu, Board member:Native to Mqanduli in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, Mr. Odwa Ntsika Mtembu, (ONM), is a registered earth scientist, climate change expert, advocate, activist, innovator, entrepreneur and a young researcher practising in the field of climate change, water, sanitation and applied geomorphology. As a Board Member of the African Youth Parliament for Water, he is responsible for sustainability, stakeholder engagement and community impact in Africa. He works at the Department of Water and Sanitation, South Africa, in the Free State Provincial Office- Proto Catchment Management Area. With over 8 years working in the public sector and over 12 years specialising in community, children and youth development; he continues to advocate for youth empowerment, transparency and accountability in his field of practice. He also advocates for community development, citizen science, big data, marginalized groups, capacity building and youth leadership through his work with various local to global stakeholders inclusive of the public sector and academia. His alma mater are the University of Cape Town and University of The Witwatersrand where he completed his Bachelor of Sciences and Master of Sciences studies, respectively, specialising in Geology, Environmental and Geographical Sciences. He is now a PhD candidate at the University of Johannesburg researching on ensuring an inclusive and transformed sector (from research to evaluation) at grassroots level.
